On her way to what she hopes will be a lucrative job in Alaska, her car breaks down, leaving her stuck in a small town in Oregon. She gets separated from her dog and only companion Lucy, and in the ensuing red tape the thin fabric of her financial situation comes apart.

Shot with a keenly poetic eye for the landscape of America’s margin-dwellers, this carefully observed story is painful and devastating to watch.
