This tightly wound political thriller shot in outback South Australia is about people looking for a way to reconcile their hidden pasts.
Stumbling through the desert are Hurtle Hamilton (Gary Sweet), an old-school ace safe cracker looking for one last shot at the big score, and Afghan-Australian Tahir (Hazem Shammas), a man with a plan. They’re looking for British gold, buried on an abandoned military base during World War II.
The base was once part of the Brisbane Line, a secret government plan to defeat the Japanese if they ever invaded, but is now guarded by lone American soldier Private Jen O’Leary (Louise Crawford) who has her own past to wrestle with.
Can she afford to risk one more screw-up to help them? Is the gold even there? And is that really why they came?
