Telling Stories on the Big Screen
Dan Castle, (Director of Newcastle, Zona Rosa and The Visitor) and cinematographer Richard Michalak talk about how to use all the tools at the filmmaker’s disposal to tell a story on screen.
Sat 1st Nov: 3-4pm
The Writer as Producer
Michael Boughen (writer and producer of the new Australian horror film Dying Breed) talks about how to be a creative producer and get your script on the big screen without directing. Michael will explore the myth that producers only focus on the financials of filmmaking.
Sat 8 Nov: 2-3 pm
The Writer-Director Relationship
Marc Gracie and Chris Thompson worked together as director and writer of the Australian thriller The Tumbler, starring Gary Sweet. They talk about how to best manage the writer/director relationship in cinematic storytelling.
