The Festival

Now in its 17th year, the Canberra International Film Festival celebrates cinema across a 12-day program that showcases extraordinary films from around the globe.

The Canberra International Film Festival believes in the power of cinema to tell the stories of our many cultures. In 2012 we welcomed close to 17,000 people to devour 60 films from 30 countries. In addition to screening feature films and documentaries, there is always a suite of other events such as Q&A sessions, as well as panel discussions with directors, producers, actors and the broad range of artists involved in the filmmaking process.

The Canberra International Film Festival is a not-for-profit organisation supported by local and federal government, corporate sponsors and cultural partners.
